After spending $20+ on character backpacks for my kids each year and then having them still fall apart mid-late school year, I finally found a solution.
I had an LL Bean backpack when I was in high school. I still have it, so when my son's backpack fell apart last year, I gave him mine instead of going out and buying him another one in April. That thing is still in great shape, even after the abuse it gets from my son!
I purchased one this year for my daughter for only $27.95. They come in several different sizes for different ages of kids, and many come with matching lunch boxes.

Some things are definitely worth putting a little more money into when you know it's good quality.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't think this would work for us because my son's backpack has to be either clear or mesh. I didn't see any like that on the LLBean website. :-(
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I just received our new lunch bags from Pottery Barn Kids (on sale). I can already tell the difference in how they are made! I think it does pay off in the end to spend a little more upfront.

I used to purchase our son's backpacks for LLBean or Land's End. They would last the whole year!
ReplyDeleteGreat tip!
I hear ya. I was spending just as much on new backpacks for my kids every year, so I finally bit the bullit and got a good one. Mine were from Lands End but same thng and we've done great with them. Great tip!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is better to invest a little extra money in a QUALITY backpack, especially one you know will last longer in the long run!
